I would like to know if it is possible for an Imam in congregation to interrupt the prayer for some reasons. For example some of the praying believers have been attacked or a he's hearing murmur or something behind him or some part of then mosque (pillar/wall...) is collapsing. It would be nice if you could quote an evidence. One reason which seems clear is if the imam loses his purity, but i have never heard of an evidence for that and would know how this would be handled. While for the ma'mums there's a clear hadith . And if this is possible acceptable i would like to know if there where other reasons beside the one mentioned above it would be acceptable and how it was/will be handled!

I have 2 questions about the intention one should make when giving sadaqah, and hope someone here knows the answer. 1. Is there a recommended intention one should make when giving sadaqah? 2. Is it standard islamic practice (or is this cultural) to give sadaqah on behalf of another person to add barakah and/or make their life easier and/or remove some calamity from their life? i.e. Can I give sadaqah on behalf of a troubled family member? In the hope that this troubled family member will receive the blessings of me giving the sadaqah on his/her behalf?

Is it permissible to ask for peace & blessings on a messenger other than the Prophet MuHammad (Allaah Bless Him & Give Him Peace)?

Sallallaahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam is basically meaning (Allaah Bless Him & Give Him Peace). So can I say "Moosa (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam)" or for any other Messenger or Prophet other than our own beloved Messenger, MuHammad (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam)? I know it's necessary to be said for our Prophet and he is the greatest of all the Prophets! And so he deserves it the most! But can it be permissible or even praiseworthy for the other messengers as long as people know you're not "requiring" it to be said for those other messengers? I just want to pray for their blessings and peace as well if I mention their specific names. Someone who has a background in traditional Sunni Islaamic education, please answer. No disrespect to anyone else!

Why Prophet Noah's age is mentioned in a wierd way in Qur'an 29:14?

Qur'an talks of Prophet Noah's age in 29:14 as follows. > And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers. Why does it say **thousand years minus fifty years** rather than directly saying 950 years? More precisely, what I'd like to ask is how should we understand this verse ? Does it literally mean Prophet Noah lived for 950 years or might it have a figurative meaning?

Can parents stop me from doing things that is not haram or obligate me to do something that is not wajib?
Does it matter if it's harus, makruh or sunnah? If they can stop me from doing completely halal, then that sounds similar to the sin of making something haram to halal to me. Please clarify.

What is the Quranic instruction to Muslims in dealing with a murder?
**In the event of a murder we see the following instruction in the Quran...** "O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered – the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. **In the event of a murder we see the following instruction in the Quran...** "O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered – the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. But whoever overlooks from his brother anything, then there should be a suitable follow-up and payment to him with good conduct. This is an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy. But whoever transgresses after that will have a painful punishment." (Surah 2:178) What does the Quran mean when it says, "the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female" in the murder context? Does it mean that if a free man kills a slave unjustly then one of his slaves must be put to death for his crime? What if that man doesn't have slaves at all? What if a man kills a woman, does this mean that a female member of his family such as mother, sister, wife, daughter etc., must be put to death for his crime? If a woman kills a man should a male member of her family be put to death? Likewise, if a slave male kills a free male then the owner of the male slave must be killed for the crime? In the murder context, the Quran could have said simply, "The murderer must be killed!" But it doesn't. It is almost impossible to guess why! What could be the possible reason behind this ambiguity in Quran regarding one of the significant issues of human societies? The above verse deals with the murder. It seems it is replacing the previous rule given to Jews as the Hadith literature mentions: https://www.sunnah.com/bukhari/87/20 . Some suggest that the verse had a context, which is not mentioned in the Authentic Hadiths though. But that doesn't restrict its applicability to Muslims now. If muslims today are expected to take its instructions how should they understand and apply it? Furthermore, even if the suggested context is a battle settlement between two tribes, which had once fought with each other and later joined Islam, how can it be equal let alone justice if a freeman be killed now for a free man that was killed in the battle? Or, a slave to be killed now for a slave that had been killed before? Or, a woman be put to death now for a woman that had been killed earlier?

The Quran says: *"...When you are secure, offer the prayer duly, because the prayer has been prescribed to the believers as **linked to particular times.**"* (An-Nisa 4:103) And the times are defined also: *“Offer the prayer **from the decline (westwards shift) of the sun** till (the beginning of) the chill of the night, and during the accumulation of red lights of dawn. The accumulation of red lights of dawn is certainly visible.”* (Al-Isra 17:78) “Offer the prayer in **two parts of the daytime** and in the hours of the night that are closer to daytime...” (Hud 11:114) Start of Dhuhr is defined: *from the decline (westwards shift) of the sun* End of Asr is defined: *Offer the prayer in two parts of the daytime*, therefore end of asr is end of daytime. But the line between of those two parts of the daytime (end of dhuhr/beginning of asr) is nowhere cleary defined. The Prophet also combined sometimes those prayers without being on a journey or having fear of anything: Narrated from Ibn Abbas: *“The Messenger of Allah combined Dhuhr and Asr, Maghrib and Isha. There was **no fear, no journey**.”* (Muslim, Prayer of the travelers, 6/59) And there are five furhter ahadith on that: (Muslim, Prayer of the travelers, 6/60, 6/65, 6/66, 6/68) **Is it allowed to combine those prayers without being on a journey or without having any excuse (having fear of something)?**

I've already inquired for a similar question, but my previous question was in regards to "Can women put their pictures (without hijab) on the internet". So, at that question I concluded that it is impermissible for women to utilize their photographs without hijab in cyberspace, since haram is haram (and it can has its negative effect [sin] on the viewer) and ... But about the ones whose images are with hijab, I assume: since there can be existed the probability of an amount of sin (as a possibility) for the ones who watch her(them) as non-mahrams, I was wondering if **it is permissible, Makruh or impermissible for women to utilize that if their photos are with hijab**?

This is from one of the websites: "...promises to sell the commodities and the customer promises to buy the commodities from time to time on an agreed ratio of profit added to the cost."
