is intercourse allowed with already married captives?

Can you explain this hadith? From [Sahih Muslim](https://sunnah.com/muslim:1456d) > They took captives (women) on the day of Autas who had their husbands. > They were afraid (to have sexual intercourse with them) when this > verse was revealed:" And women already married except those whom you > right hands posses" (iv. 24) My Questions regarding this hadith 1: Are their husbands captive with there wifes? 2: Why there marriage get annual? I mean non-muslims have their own rules in their religion 3: are they not allowed to practice their religion as slave?
