Salam Aleikum my brothers and sister I wanna ask when a evil thought is coming to my head, is that shirk? Not too long ago, a voice said in my head **“I trust the Shaytan”**, I immediately panicked and now I don’t know, if it’s shirk. I’m so scared of it and I can’t get it out, of my head. These evil thoughts come a lot, I face these voices and bad thoughts about Allah Swt every single day. I’m panicking every single day because of these thoughts and I always fear if it’s my own fault. Even when I am trying to worship Allah Swt they are still in my head. I hope you guys can help.

Someone was arguing with me that going to the mesjid **isn't** obligatory. As evidence, he stated the following Hadith (he said it was in Saheeh Bukhari and Saheeh Muslim): > Some Sahaba (may Allah be pleased with them) were sitting with the Prophet (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), they asked him to tell them who's one of the People of Jannah, and he (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said the first person to enter the door, then a Bedouin entered. After that, one (or more, I forgot) of the companions watched that Bedouin for 3 days, **and he/they saw that he prayed (the fardh) at home,** and he did no extra deeds, such as Tahajjud and voluntary fasting. Note I wrote the Hadith from memory when I heard him say it, I didn't take it from a Hadith book, there might be minor errors but I remember the important points. May Allah give us a better understanding of the religion, this is the first time I ever heard of such a Hadith! He even said that the Hadith was in Al-Nawawi's (may Allah have mercy on him) Riyadh As-Saliheen. Is it true that this Hadith is in Saheeh Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim, and even in Riyadh As-Saliheen? Jazakum Allah khayran,

What is the meaning of "He covered you with a sort of drowsiness" phrase in Quran 8:11?
I was reading [Yusuf Ali's English translation][1] where he states for translation of Quran 8:11: > "Remember **He covered you with a sort of drowsiness, to give you calm as from Himself**, and he caused rain to descend on you from heaven, to clean you therewith, to remove from you the stain of Sata...
I was reading Yusuf Ali's English translation where he states for translation of Quran 8:11: > "Remember **He covered you with a sort of drowsiness, to give you calm as from Himself**, and he caused rain to descend on you from heaven, to clean you therewith, to remove from you the stain of Satan, to strengthen your hearts, and to plant your feet firmly therewith." The aya in Arabic is: > **إِ‌ذْ‌ يُ‍‍غَ‍‍شِّيكُمُ ‌ال‍‍‍نُّ‍‍ع‍‍َ‍اسَ ‌أَمَنَة ً‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُ ‌وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍سَّم‍‍َ‍ا‌ءِ‌ م‍‍َ‍ا‌ء‌ ً‌ > لِيُ‍‍طَ‍‍هِّ‍رَكُمْ بِ‍‍هِ ‌وَيُذْهِبَ عَ‍‌‍ن‍‍كُمْ ‌رِجْ‍‍زَ‌ > ‌ال‍‍شَّيْ‍‍طَ‍‍‍انِ ‌وَلِيَرْبِ‍‍طَ عَلَى‌ قُ‍‍لُوبِكُمْ ‌وَيُثَبِّتَ > بِهِ ‌الأَ‍‍قْ‍‍‍دَ‌امَ** My Arabic is lacking in finding which word is interpreted to mean "drowsiness". Picthall's translation reads: > "When ***He made the slumber fall upon you as a reassurance from him*** and sent down water from the sky upon you, that thereby He might purify you, and remove from you the fear of Satan, and make strong your hearts and firm (your) feet thereby." I don't think Allah sbwt made them actually sleep. I interpret this metaphorically as putting the believers in an alternate state of consciousness where they are very relaxed but on a heightened state of alertness; calm but ready and alert with alpha brain waves dominant. This can be achieved with meditation. Athletes try to achieve this state before competition and I am sure it is beneficial for warriors before and during battle. I am speculating because I am not well versed on the sirra and hadiths. Any help appreciated.

Can Muslims fight those disbelievers that do not fight them and live in peace? Quran 2:193 >Muhammad Sarwar: Fight them so that there will be no disbelief in God and God's religion will become dominant. If they change their behavior, there would be no hostility against anyone except the unjust. > >Mohsin Khan: And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah) and (all and every kind of) worship is for Allah (Alone). But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.) According to these verses a Muslim should fight disbelievers even if they want peace. Even the commentary say we should fight disbelievers >Here the term fitnah is used in a different sense from the one in which it was used above see( verse 191). It is evident from the context that fitnah refers here to the state of affairs wherein the object of obedience is someone other than God. Hence the purpose of a believer's fighting is that this fitnah should cease and obedience should be consecrated to God alone.(Source )

As we know, during the times of Umar RA, there was a plague. It was believed at that time as it is believed now also that if one is infected, the disease may spread to closed ones. This can be known by the following hadith: > A bedouin asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! What about the camels which, > when on the sand [desert] look like deers, but when a camel. with an > itch mixes with them, they are all infected with itchiness?”. On that, > the Holy Prophetsa said, “Then who conveyed the disease [itch] to the > first camel?” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Medicine) So my questions are related to behaviors adopted during this very plague: 1. were mosques closed? 2. were congregation prayers or even gatherings banned? 3. was social distancing being practiced in mosques? 4. Were families of infected people banned from entering mosques or congregational prayers? 5. Were those who took care of infected people banned from entering mosques or congregation prayers? 6. Before Covid-19, has it ever happened that mosques were closed because of epidemics in the times of Nabi SAW, or four caliphs of Islam, or even after?

There are two quotes from Ibn Taymiyyah that have been floating around the internet for a while. One supposedly comes from a work known as "Sheik of the Muslims" (vol. XII, p. 101). The problem is I have not been able to find this book anywhere. "The companions of Muhammad had never used the diacritical points or the vocalization for the Qur’an. For each word, there were two readings—either to use (for instance) ‘ya’ or ‘tah’ in such words as ‘they do’ or ‘you do’. The companion did not forbid one of the readings in favor of the other, then some successor of the companions began to use the diacritical points and vocalization for the Qur’an." Another quote from page 578 and 586 of the book "The companions (Muhammad’s friends) did not vocalize or provide diacritical points for the letters of the Qur’anic copies which they wrote, but later during the last part of the companions’ era, when reading errors came into being, they began to provide diacritical points for the copies of the Qur’an and to vocalize them. This was admissible by the authority of the majority of the scholars, though some of them disliked it. The truth is, it should not be disliked because the situation necessitated it, and the diacritical points distinguish the letters from each other while vocalization explains the grammatical inflection." Could someone provide me with the source and quote in Arabic? Thanks.
