Did I lie by saying this?
My father today asked me how much discount a particular shop gives. I said that they give a 40 taka discount if a customer buys 400 takas worth of goods. However, I am not 100% sure that the information I provided is correct. I am about 80% sure that I was correct. So, did I lie?

During the Night Journey, it is proclaimed that the Angel Gabriel expounded on the four rivers when questioned by the Prophet. Water, Milk, Wine and Honey. [Therein are rivers of water that does not alter, and rivers of milk the taste whereof does not change, and rivers of drink delicious to those who drink, and rivers of honey clarified and for them therein are all fruits and protection from their Lord. (Are these) like those who abide in the fire and who are made to drink boiling water so it rends their bowels asunder. (Muhammad \[47\]; 15).][1] Contrasting this to an old translation of the Pentateuch , there are four rivers (angles) mentioned. These are (The People/The Farmers/The Artisans) + (The Priesthood/Sacrificing Priests/Sacredotal Instruction) +(The Learned/ The Scribes) +(State/Military Officials) What, if any, connections may there be between the two views? To drink can be interpreted as to quench the thirst of knowledge, the motivation for a scribe or learned (wine/drink?) They who protect perhaps (priests or state/military officials) but this can be related to milk, that which does not change (the priests who hold the knowledge and prevent corruption)

My brother knows a girl who claims to be gifted, she says she can read people's spirits and talk to them. I have been going through a tough time recently, and my brother knows so out of curiosity he asked her about me. She didn't know what I was going through other than the fact that I have been really upset lately. She said a lot of things about my "spirit" that were eerily accurate. I thought that my brother was making it up, or he told her about my situation, but he didn't. The problem is that I'm a muslim. I was wondering if it is okay for me to ask this girl for more details, and ask her to help me. Would this be shirk or a sin?

Does your imagination become true if you say Inshallah?
We want many things in our life. Sometimes we get what we want and otherwise not. So by saying Inshallah will your wish become true? Does saying Inshallah makes your every wish come true?

From previous experiences, I understand that 1) Celebrating Birthdays is considered Makruh by many scholars 2) Mourning the death of someone should be restricted to three days except for the closest relatives of the deceased But what is the ijtehad on 1) Mourning the passing away of very religious person like the grandsons of Prophet Muhammad 2) Observing "Urs" and holding food festivals in tombs and shrines 3) Celebrating personal events like wedding anniversary or some other happy occasion If possible, a daleel from the Quran and Hadith would be highly appreciated.

I was sitting watching a movie with some of my friends and when the kissing scene came up I kind of looked away and didn't pay attention to it because I was raised that way. In my family we wouldn't watch movies with stuff like that, but descriptions aren't very accurate anymore and don't tell you everything. So if there was something happening that was unexpected we would cover our eyes. I was sitting with some colleague friends from work, we are all Muslim, and a kissing scene was coming up and so I looked away and they made fun of me. I told them that it's haram to watch stuff like that, and on the day of judgement the eyes will say what they saw. They said that was stupid and told me to grow up. So I decided to ask. Can someone please clarify?

## Question ## Is it Permissible to Play musical instruments on Eid? ## Research Effort ## The playing of Musical instruments in general, appears (to me) to be forbidden: > Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection." **[ [bukhari](https://sunnah.com/bukhari:5590) ]** ---------- However in my interpretation of this next Hadith, the messenger permitted some girls to sing a song of the Ansar as an exception, because its Eid: > Narrated Aisha: That once Abu Bakr came to her on the day of Id-ul-Fitr or Id ul Adha while the Prophet (ﷺ) was with her and there were two girl singers with her, singing songs of the Ansar about the day of Buath. Abu Bakr said twice. "Musical instrument of Satan!" But the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Leave them Abu Bakr, for every nation has an Id and this day is our Id." **[ [Bukhari](https://sunnah.com/bukhari:3931)]** But Abu Bakr views the singing of these girls as a: > "Musical instrument of Satan!" So this formed the question for me, if Singing ( a song of the ansar about the day of buath) is allowed on Eid and Abu Bakr views that Singing as a kind of (satanic) Musical Instrument; (and the messenger did not correct him in that); then **Is it Permissible to Play musical instruments on Eid?**

Shirk/kufr thoughts without believing in them
If you have thoughts of shirk but you don’t actually believe in them would you have committed a sin? And what I mean by having thoughts of shirk is you, yourself bringing those thoughts to mind (not waswas or OCD thoughts).

Asalamu Alaikum! I hurt many people in my life and I regret it a lot. I feel very sad about it and I’m trying to be different now but I feel like there is this huge burden on me. Will Allah ever forgive me if I make du’a for them always? And if I make dua and do good deeds on their behalf will they be accepted and compensated for what I did? Will I be punished for this or no? I don’t know some of them and some don’t know about it, and some I cannot contact so that is why. Is this okay? Jazakallah Khair. 😊💕

Amazon includes RSUs as a part of the total employee compensation. However, the company stock is non-sharia compliant http://testblog.islamicly.com/StockReport/shariah-stock-status-report-amazon-inc-usa-nasdaq/ My question is, as a software developer that is not directly working in any of the non-sharia compliant team, is it ok for me to receive the RSUs as a part of compensation? What if, for example, my compensation includes $10,000 worth of stock with a vesting period, and when the vesting period is done, I immediately sell the stock and keep the $10,000, and if there's any bonus amount that's earned, I can give it to charity. Amazon gives a larger part of compensation as stock for more senior roles, so an employee is really dependent on that as well.. Also, I found this on a forum https://forum.islamicfinanceguru.com/t/working-at-amazon/294/3

These following hadiths are part of morning and evening adhkar. And it is prescribed to recite these in such a manner that the way the prophet (s.a.w) commanded us to recite. But I've came across something confusing context *(pdf, website's article, scholar's list which is actually authentic)* of morning and evening adhkar where I've found that in the both morning and evening adhkar section they put these following two dhikr **(when the text of those two dhikr clearly state that These can be recited *mentioned* {either in the morning or evening} period)** also. I'm confused and at the same time afraid of failing into bida'(innovation) by reciting them regularly when our prophet (s.a.w) didn't do that. Please clarify and elaborate this poin☝️. **Can I recite these👇 two adhkar alone with the adhkar of morning and evening in daily basis?** > 1/ Muslim (2709) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that he said: A man came > ...https://sunnah.com/urn/517230....He(s.a.w) said: “If you had said, > when **evening** came, A‘oodhu bi kalimaat-Illaah it-taammaati min > sharri ma khalaq (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the > evil of that which He has created), , it would not have harmed you.” > > > 2/ Muslim (2726) narrated from Juwayriyah that > ........https://sunnah.com/muslim:2726a...........He (s.a.w) came back > in the **forenoon** said: “Are you still as you were when I left you?” > She said: Yes. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) > said: “After I left you I said four words three times, which if they > were weighed against what you have said today, they would outweigh it: > ‘Subhaan Allahi wa bi hamdih ‘adada khalqihi wa rida nafsihi wa zinata > ‘arshihi wa midaada kalimaatihi (Glory and praise be to Allah, as much > as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as much as the > weight of His Throne and as much as the extent of His words)’.”
