I know that in the Quran that the five messengers: Nuh (A.S.), Ibrahim (A.S.), Musa (A.S.), Isa (A.S.), and Muhammad (S.A.W.) are considered the Ulul'azm Anbiya but I was just wondering if Adam (A.S.) is also considered a rasul or a prophet of a similar stature to these prophets. This reasoning mainly comes from Surah Al-Imran ayat 33 where it says > "Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the > family of 'Imran over the worlds". Perhaps it is merely a misunderstanding on my part, but does this ayat say that Adam (A.S.) is considered as high a stature of the other rasuls previously mentioned? If my understanding is incorrect, could you please elaborate on the meaning of this ayat? Jazakallah khair

I am a Christian, but recently I started to read the Quran. I did not yet finish reading it. I read it with the same respect and with the same proper mindset, as I would be reading the Christian Bible. One of the prominent things which confuses me is related to the drinking of alcohol. The way I understood it, in some places the drinking of alcohol is strictly forbidden, in other places is forbidden, but no so strictly, and in other places it is almost allowed - if one drank alcohol, then they should do this-and-that and then Allah will forgive them. Of course, any of the 3 situations above are OK taken alone, but out together in the same "rule-book", they seem to be conflicting with each other. So my question is: what is the "real" rule about drinking alcohol? Of course, drinking huge amounts of alcohol is not recommended in any culture, in any book. I am not talking about that. Example: is it allowed for a Muslim to drink a small amount of alcohol in the evening, before going to sleep? "Small" means that they will not get to the situation to hurt themselves, to hurt others, or to shame themselves in front of others, as a result of drinking. Note: unfortunately, I did not make notes while reading, and I cannot mention exactly where I read each information. Also, I read a translation of the Quran, since I do not know Arabic.

Is it bad/sinful for one to leave their parents coz they wouldn't allow their child freedom to live. Wouldn't allow them to do what they want to do wid their life (halaal way of course). And verbally abused em which caused the child mental stress?

we are two sisters and two brothers. My Father, when alive, transferred the property to my two brothers when they were minors at age of 9 years and 7 years respectively. The property remained in my brothers name and my father died. Now we both sisters are claiming the share in property as it was of our fathers. But my brothers are saying that the property belongs to them. My question is , how can the property belongs to my brothers, though it was transferred to their name when they were only minors??? Please advise what does sharia says about this?? and how we solve this distribution issue amongst us in an amicable manner???

While there is also another related question on the website, my question is however different: In many countries, Muslim women don't cover their face and palms, although they cover their hair, ears, neck, the parts of hand higher than wrist, and their body by Hijab. There are also some Islamic countries that women cover their face with Hijab. Is it part of Islam or it's just a cultural issue of that countries? Is it a must? And if it is not a must in Islam, doesn't it limit the social activity of women in that countries?

If only the capsule is made of gelatine, does removing the medicine from inside mean it can be consumed without ingesting something haram. I have read that najis (impurities) only transfers when that najis or what it touches is wet. In this case the capsule is dry.

There are plenty questions with the already drawn conclusion that traveling alone for a woman is forbidden (haram). - Is travelling to persue a career haram for a female Muslim? The person asking already has drawn the conclusion that it is forbidden, saying "i know it is haram". - Are women converts an exception to the rule of travelling alone? This question is asking about an exception of the conclusion that a woman can't travel alone. - Can a Muslim woman **study abroad** without a mahram? In my opinion, studying abroad and **traveling alone** is not focusing on the exact and direct question. - Why are women not allowed to go out alone even in today's society? The question is clearly focusing on **WHY it is not allowed**. I have yet not found a direct question asking if a woman can travel alone or not, therefore I am posting this question. **Can a woman travel alone?** *I would like to hear both the yes and no opinions, both from shia and a sunni point of view.* Please provide references.

Quran specifies permissible and non-permissible marriages in chapter 4, verses 22, 23, and 24. Basically a list is given and then it's said that marry whomever beyond that list. But granddaughters are not mentioned in the list. Does this mean that grandfather can marry granddaughter?

I have mud on my pants but it does not get off even after washing. These are just stains. Is this considered najs and can I be able to pray salah wearing these pants?

Is it permissible to recite the same surah more than one time in one rakat, what is its significance according to Quran and hadith? As I often recite the same surah(like, surah ikhlas or any other surah) more than one times in a rakat, is it a valid prayer or not?

On my way back to home while traveling, I missed asr prayer. Now I am at home and praying full prayers. How should I pray qaza of my asr prayer, two rakats or four? When Magrib time started, I was in travel. Options are - Since, I am not traveling, I should pray full for asr. - Since, I missed two rakats of asr, I should pray two rakats. Both point of view seems valid to me. Not that it matters much (its only two rakats), but is there any guidance available in Quran or hadith ?

Assalam-o-Alaikum brothers and sisters. I am a new married person. It's about 8th week of my marriage. I came here with my wife for Umrah. When we were coming from my country; my wife ate medicine for stopping her periods. Now we did Umrah and our all Ibadaats Alhamdulillah. I came to know that my wife is on her periods now and her periods started on 17th May 2018 (1st Ramadan) and she is still on her periods (high bleeding till date). Like it's about her 13th day of continous period today. Please guide me what to do? Is she ill or what; i am very tensed about her health? Can we intercourse in this state (she has bleeding)? I was tired yesterday, and I couldn't help I just slept before even the sunset. Next thing I know I woke after like an hour after fajr time, I had slept for nearly 12 hours. Now I haven't taken suhoor I haven't even made my niyyah, and I feel so dizzy because I haven't eaten for more than 15 hours and now I have to fast for maybe another 15 hours. And I don't know if I'm allowed to not fast today, and then fast it back after Ramadan, because I didn't do my niyyah.

As there are multiple hints to "ward off the hudud as much as possible", and I have not seen "unmarried pregnancy" as one of the conditions for fornication punishments till now. I am just asking this question as my study on this topic might be limited. 1. Does unmarried pregnancy imply the hudud punishment in sharia? 2. If not, What kind of punishment given then? *I am not asking about a pregnant woman confessing* If I state my question in the form of a Scenario: A woman exists in the city (either lives alone or with parents/brother, doesn't matter) and she is unmarried and pregnant. The religious authority/leader come to know about her, she does not confess to zina, What are they supposed to do in the light of Sharia?

What happens if a persons unknowingly performs fardh salath, even though he is not clean (ejaculated in the night)? Suppose he does wudhu, performs fajr and also recites quran in the same condition. Only later does he realizes that there was an ejaculation in the night after seeing his clothes.

The Eid salah is the reverse of Jumu'ah in that it's the salah then Khutbah not Khutbah then salah. I read you must stay until the end of the Khutbah but is there a valid view to leave after the salah as I see some brothers do either ignorantly or via a valid view of the scholars?
