I have an issue. I thought so long, we could pray in full prayer length, when we have just travelled. Yesterday, Our Imam came from another region. In the prayer of Al-asr and Isha (I did not pray with him Magrib). He just prayed 2 rakats instead of 4. After the 2 rakats, we stand up and pray the last 2 rakats alone. I asked the question to another one about that situation and he told me, our Imam came from a long journey, so He prays 2 Rakats. My question is: Is it an obligation to pray 2 rakats or we can pray in full length?

Are there ayat to the effect of "be nice to others" in the Qur'an?

It's not hard to find examples of people saying Islam teaches people to be nice to others: > Islam places great emphasis on manners and on the proper way to deal with others, whether they are Muslims or not. -- Questions About Islam > > Thus, it is not permissible under any circumstances for Muslims to mistreat a non-Muslim who has not committed any aggression against them; they are not allowed to harm, threaten or terrorize him, steal his wealth, cheat him or deprive him of his rights. -- How are Muslims supposed to treat people of other faiths? My overall impression on reading the Qur'an was that it's quite important for Muslims to be nice to others (and I try to be nice to others [I don't always succeed, but you know...]). It's something I've experienced personally from other Muslims all over the world, and it's now something I assume (You're Muslim? That means you'll be nice to me.) and I mostly haven't been disappointed. However, I don't recall a precise ayah that means "be nice to others" in simple, general terms. **Question**: Are there ayat to the effect of "be nice to others" in the Qur'an?

So i have a problem in which i have a continous gas problem.Because of this its very difficult to pray. Lately i came to know about the madhur ruling where a person is excused for a problem he is suffering so he can take wudhu and if he releases anything his wudhu wont break. But recently i am wondering whether i come under this madhur ruling ? There is always a ton of gas in my stomach. I dont release it all in one go but in small amounts every few minutes. Usually i dont release it when i am not in wudhu , atleast i dont notice it being released. But when i take wudhu I get nervous and then i feel gas in my stomach and start praying i cant help but feel that i released gas especially when i go down in ruku and sujood.I have another problem whereby it is really difficult to hold in the gas because my gaspipe muscles are 'loose' - meaning that my voluntary muscles have lost much of their ability to constrict. The result is the unevitable release of a small amount of gas every once in a while. It is a mental-physical problem I have to try and take wudhu several times sometimes as less as 3 to as much as 10 times .This causes me great tension and grief and anger. Because of this tension i have los weight too and become thin. Whats more i am not an adult and this is a great burden. Sometimes i feel like i may go insane and die after taking wudhu around 10 times. I am physically, mentally and spiritually exhausted after all this. Now the question is do i come under the madhur ruling ? Am i a madhur ? Certainly Allah (may he be glorified) has said :'Do not overburden yourselves lest you perish' Jazallahu Khair

I’ve looked into some other religions and from what it seems it seems like fear is the foundation/root of belief. What I mean is saying “you will get punished if you don’t do X thing” that may just be for personal benefit. This can be used to exploit others, get money etc etc. From what I understand historically this was also a big thing in religions like Christianity where it seemed people were indoctrinated and a system was in place that used fear to “put people in their places” and there were things like tithes. Is this the same case with Islam? Even if money isn’t necessarily in the equation it seems fear is the root to belief in anything, it’s also seems to me to be the reason why people don’t branch out and stick to their own religion without questioning anything, I think this ties into something called confirmation bias too. It seems people are just devoid of skepticism and taught something at birth and roll with it fearing if they don’t there will be consequences and that’s a pretty dangerous train of thought.

As-salamu alaykum, my brothers and sisters. I am not a muslim but would like to understand your religion better. I have recently came across a news which is doing the rounds & was wondering what's the exact cause of the event & what actually happened? And noboday was talking about the triggered event & all are reacting to reactions.
So I checked the video and its conversation. It was a regular news debate & the lady mentioned a sentence which is supposedly said to be written in Quran (I don't know authenticity of this matter). The statement was said in anger & in retaliation of the 1st person derogatory statement. Now I could have quoted it & mentioned that source link but I avoided it just to avoid offending anyone. But at the same time I have seen many people have who doesn't have any idea on what's the actual issue & some haven't seen or heard the original source & the context in which it was given, but are reacting to the news / reports which includes UN representative spokesperson who himself told that he hasn't seen the main source but heard from sources but he condemn such actions and so do I. Now my question to you all is that, is it true that her so called statements are written in Quran. I downloaded an english version of the Quran & tried to find it but couldn't find it in terms of exact statement or words. I maybe wrong but I need to talk & hear from the people that matters. So please give your inputs, so I can understand your religion better. If anyone wants then I can provide source links. Sorry if my post offended anyone but my intent is to get to the bottom of this. Awaiting your response.

> A grace is a short prayer or thankful phrase said before or after eating. The term most commonly refers to Christian traditions. -- Wikipedia Here's a Catholic example: > Bless us, O Lord, and these, Thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen. There's an implication of shirk in this passage, which is obviously unacceptable in Islam. In my experience, ordinarily the host (or one of the hosts) will stand up and say grace, while the remaining people bow their heads and remain silent. **Question**: What can a Muslim do when dining with Christian friends who say grace? I don't want to be unfriendly nor disrespectful, nor obstinate in religious matters. It seems like I could mentally replace "Christ" with "God", which seems like it would make the passage Muslim appropriate. Alternatively, I could say something like "in the name of God" (basically Bismillah in English), which would probably be not too off-putting.

Is there a ruling for giving and returning the Salam while eating?
What is the ruling, if any, of offering salaam to someone who is eating? And also what is the ruling when being offered salaam while you yourself are eating? Lately, we hear people saying that it is forbidden to say "Salam" while eating. Hence the question.

How to give adhan in newborn baby's ear?
In few days, I will become a father and I was wondering how to say adhan in the right way? As new baby has a very delicate ear, so does one whisper, or say it out loud but from a distance? Should it be in both ear or just one? Who should be present at the time of adhan?
