All people that ever lived will live are descendants of Adam and Eve. And likely billions of these people went to hell because they have committed great sins or became non-believers. So much suffering happened just because Adam and Eve had children. If they were to decide to not to have kids, there would be no people in hell. Even knowing that they are potentially bounding numerous numbers of souls into infinite suffering, Adam and Eve had children. In my opinion, that is not a right thing to do. Does the fact that they had kids mean that Adam and Eve are evil sinners? They could have avoided so much suffering but they did not and it deeply saddens me.

Interpretation/translation of An-Nisa 4:17
Pikthall translates: > Forgiveness is **only incumbent** on Allah toward those who do evil in ign...
Pikthall translates: > Forgiveness is **only incumbent** on Allah toward those who do evil in ignorance (and) then turn quickly (in repentance) to Allah. These are they toward whom Allah relenteth. Allah is ever Knower, Wise. where the term "only incumbent" lacks a direct link to the original. Sahih International leaves the word "only" but leaves out the word "incumbrent": > The repentance accepted by Allah is **only** for those who do wrong in ignorance [or carelessness] and then repent soon after. It is those to whom Allah will turn in forgiveness, and Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. The particle إِنَّمَا (inna-maa) is translated as "only". However, this would imply that repetence is not possible for any wrong that is not done in ignorance, whereas other passages imply that repetence from sin, even kufr, is possible through due repetence. Itani leaves إِنَّمَا untranslated: > Repentance is available from God for those who commit evil out of ignorance, and then repent soon after. These—God will relent towards them. God is Knowing and Wise. An overview on the usage of the particle إِنَّمَا in Sunna drawa a picture where the meaning "only" does not fit. Rather, the affirmative إِنَّ, (inna: "indeed", "truely", "verily") fits well in all cases. Keyzer translates thus into Dutch: > **Waarlijk**, bij God is verzoening voor hen, die in onwetendheid gezondigd en er spoedig berouw over hebben. God vergeeft hun; want God is alwetend en wijs. > (**Verily**, with God is atonement for those who have sinned in ignorance and are quick to repent. God forgives them; for God is omniscient and wise.) The Quran continues (4:18): > But there is no atonement for those who do evil until death strikes them, and then (after death) say, "I repent"; nor for those who die as disbelievers. We have determined a severe punishment for these. Is it correct to assume Keyzer's translation that the Quran mentions the two extreme cases; in verse 17 where God promises that He will for sure be forgive, and the case of a notorious evil-doer who did not repent or refrain from doing evil during his entire life? ---------- Suggestion taking into account the answer of UmH: >Repentance is indeed available from God for those who commit evil in carelessness and repent in time. God will relent towards them. God is Knowing and Wise. >But there is no atonement for those who do evil until death strikes them, and then (after death) say, "I repent"; nor for those who die as disbelievers. We have determined a severe punishment for these. This would fill the gap between the two examples, and the question, whether it is appropriate to add "only" in (17) becomes less relevant.

Retracting an oath
I made an oath to Allah, saying that I swear by Him to abstain from a particular thing for a certain period of time, I managed to for a few days but I have now realised that I cannot keep up for the remaining time, can I retract this oath and then it becomes rendered null and void?

Peace be upon you. My question is as follows: I work as a sales representative for a marketing agency and my job is to bring in customers and then get a commission for each successful deal. About nine or ten months ago I brought a client and he has a project and I got a commission through cryptocurrency (ETH) because the deal was successful and I before I bring any client I try my best to check the site of the project and social media accounts to make sure that the project doesn't have any haram thing and to guarantee halal money and I had checked the site of the project and I did not notice any haram thing and I told myself that the money I made is halal but today the same customer came and bought a package and I got a commission and then I wanted to make sure again that the site doesn't have any haram thing, but when I checked, I found a 2D drawing from far and it has 2 naked girls and in one of the sections of the site, I see them talking about casino (where gambling is held), and then I kept looking for fatwas if the previous money I made 9 months ago was halal or haram, and I did not find a detailed fatwa because I was ignorant and did not know if the website had any of the haram things I mentioned above. Sorry if my question was long, but I want a detailed fatwa in this matter, otherwise I will keep thinking about it, and may Allah reward you for what you are doing.

I find it quite profound but I have a doubt what this suggests about searching for help. If we are to struggle in something or fail, should we ask for help? Or should keep to ourselves and have a faith that we can overcome it? Maybe for simple things we can overcome but what about issues like permenabt medical ones?

I have seen mentioned in various sources (e.g. [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jinn)) that the jinn are vulnerable to and/or afraid of iron, however I have not been able to find proper references to where this belief originates or how widely held it is among Muslims. The closest thing to a reference I've been able to find myself to any supernatural properties of iron is that the barrier of Gog and Magog was forged of iron and impenetrable above and beyond the structural strength of the barrier, but that isn't indicative of anything in and of itself. My main concern is that this belief of jinn fearing iron sounds very similar to the idea that faeries and other such supernatural creatures are vulnerable to [cold iron](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_in_folklore#Cold_iron) , which is a common superstition found in a variety of ways throughout the world and apparently untied to any Islamic folklore at all. Is this belief, that the jinn are afraid of iron, found anywhere in reliable (or even less reliable) Islamic resources, or is it perhaps derived from the Israeliyyat? Or is it more likely to just be a cultural belief carried over from the Jahiliyyah? Does this have any real Islamic basis beyond hearsay and superstition?

I have made countless duas and but none get accepted. At first it was of grades then to get accepted into a uni. After I didn’t get accepted I researched on duas and figured it may have not been best for me. Then I made dua to pass in my uni and that didn’t happen I got offered another chance and didn’t pass that as well after so much dua and I didn’t just make dua I also tried and studied. I pray and ask for constant forgiveness but now I feel helpless I don’t know what I’m doing wrong or why nothing works out for me even if I have so much hope I cry to Allah but I don’t feel as if I am being heard why?

For a commoner, the very next question which comes into mind after this How does Muslim teaching on the person of Jesus differ from that of Christian teaching? is, what about those instances where the disciples witnessed Jesus (pbuh) appearing after rising from the tomb - John 20 . **What is the Islamic perspective of those events/situations/instances described in John 20? Was that who appeared to them the real Jesus (pbuh) or was it shaitan?** Because Shaitan is very good at deceiving people by appearing in different forms to people. I feel this could be because of John 20:28 where > Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” (And this is used by today's Christians to prove Jesus was god because he did not say anything when Thomas said so to him or maybe it is not authentic, but plz focus on the **bold** part) May the creator guide us all.
