What is the maximum number of days when travelling in which one can combine prayers?

As such, one would be allowed to pray dhur and asr together, with 2 raqaat each for example. But when is the maximum number of days in which one can do this? I've heard that if you are in a certain place for more than 3 days, then you are not permitted to combine and shorten prayers. Others says 15 days, and some say as long as you are far from your home, however long that may be, you are permitted to shorten and combine prayers.

When/why is it okay to combine prayers?
I have read that some groups combine prayers at different prayer times. This has been confusing me, because I don't understand the reasoning behind this. (I am a new Muslim.) - When is it okay to combine prayers? - Which prayers can be combined? - Why it is OK to combine prayers?

What other explanations of the hadith of combining prayers (Sahih Muslim 1636) are given by Muslim scholars?

Ahadiths from 1628 to 1637 mention combining prayers in Sahih Muslim. I saw scholars on Huda TV and other places discuss some of these ahadiths, but I never heard of sahih muslim 1636 before: > 'Abdullah b. Shaqiq reported: Ibn 'Abbas one day addressed us in the afternoon (after the afternoon prayer) till the sun disappeared and the stars appeared, and the people began to say: Prayer, prayer. A person from Banu Tamim came there. He neither slackened nor turned away, but (continued crying): Prayer, prayer. Ibn 'Abbas said: May you be deprived of your mother, do you teach me Sunnah? And then he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) combining the noon and afternoon prayers and the sunset and 'Isha' prayers. 'Abdullah b. Shaqiq said: Some doubt was created in my mind about it. So I came to Abu Huraira and asked him (about it) and he testified his assertion. (See also here ) Recently someone told me of this hadith. They made a convincing case for why combining Zhur and Asr prayers and Magrib and Isha prayers is allowed. However, As a sunni muslim, I wanted to ask if sunni scholars have addressed this hadith and it may have other meanings than the surface level meaning a laymen like me can derive. Surely this is such an important thing, so Imam Muslim and others would have talked about this hadith and made it clear to the muslim community.

Assalamu 'alaikum, I have a difficulty for keeping my body pure and sometimes I feel it is very hard to keep it like that. Because these days almost every product is related to some animal origin, such as leather, greases, food items, paints, etc. And I have no guarantee over those whether it is made from pork or not. So I feel it is very hard to avoid such things. And I had some kind of waswas also I think and I'm sure no one near me cares about these things. But I feel if I use such items my prayer becomes invalid. And I searched for a cure from these kind of things and I found these two hadeeths: 1:Everything is pure unless you are certain about it that it is otherwise. 2:Avoid those things which make you doubt. So I dont know what I should do. For example I found white greases are made from inedible lard (from pork)so what should I do because I'm a mechanical engineering student and a car enthusiast so how should I abstain from those things? It is easy to abstain from food items that contains pork some times. But it's very hard to abstain to those items that indirectly contain pork such as greases for automobile, paints, etc. I am suffering a lot about this issue. >Can you please advice me what should I do? May allah shower his blessings upon you and your family. Thanks.

Assalamou ailekom I would like to know if my prayers are accepted or not if I have a dog in the my house. My brother adopted it without permission from us but we had to keep it since we got emotionally attached to it. I know that angels don't enter the houses of people who keep their dogs in their houses and that's dogs are just permissible if they are guard dogs. We see it as a pet but it can serve as a guard dog too maybe because when guests or strangers are comming to our house the dog goes to window so we know that someone is coming. So I'm a little confused if it's a sin or not in our case to keep the dog. Thank you in advance.

Please I need some clarification. If God does not like dogs to be kept as pets, why did he create them to be loving and caring? Why is it not in the Quran that having a dog pet is Haram? I learnt a prostitute woman gave water to a starving dog and God forgave her sins and she went to heaven: > Allah's Messenger said, "A prostitute was forgiven by Allah, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it. So, Allah forgave her because of that." (sunnah.com ) It says in the Quran: > It is We who relate to you, [O Muhammad], their story in truth. Indeed, they were youths who believed in their Lord, ... > > We would have certainly spoken, then, an excessive transgression. These, our people, have taken besides Him deities. ... > > He whom Allah guides is the [rightly] guided, but he whom He leaves astray - never will you find for him a protecting guide. And you would think them awake, while they were asleep. **And We turned them to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched his forelegs at the entrance.** If you had looked at them, you would have turned from them in flight and been filled by them with terror. -- Qur'an 18:13-18 The dwellers of the cave were with their dog. God called them "true muslims" (surah Kahf). It says only in the hadith that a dog pet is not allowed in Islam. E.g. > The Prophet said, "Whoever keeps a (pet) dog which is neither a watch dog nor a hunting dog, will get a daily deduction of two Qirat from his good deeds." (sunnah.com ) My Imam told me anything that contradicts what the Quran says is untrue. Therefore, is that hadith about dogs untrue? Because it clearly contradicts the Quran.

Moses said to Adam: You are our father. You did us harm and caused us to get out of Paradise. Adam said to him: You are Moses. Allah selected you (for direct conversation with you) and wrote with His own Hand the Book (Torah) for you. Despite this you blame me for an act which Allah had ordained for me forty years before He created me. Allah's Apostle ﷺ said:. This is how Adam came the better of Moses and Adam came the better of Moses. (Sahih Muslim 2652a )

There's something in the Quran that I don't understand properly. They are from Surah Fussilat (41) verses 9 to 12: *Say, "Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two days and attribute to Him equals? That is the Lord of the worlds."* *And He placed on the earth firmly set mountains over its surface, and He blessed it and determined therein its [creatures'] sustenance in four days without distinction - for [the information] of those who ask.* *Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."* *And He completed them as seven heavens within two days and inspired in each heaven its command. And We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps and as protection. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.* -Quran 41:9-12 It's saying that the earth was created in 2 days and the mountains were created in 4 days. So in total, that's 6 days for the earth. But in the last verse, it says the universe was created in 2 days. Why did the creation of earth take more time than the creation of the universe? It looks like it contradicts science. The earth is much much smaller than the universe. Can someone please give me the explanation for this? Thank you.
