What does Islam say if a girl is not happy with the guy which her family found her, because of caste issues? The guy she likes keeps sending his proposal in the right way through the parents. And the boy is well established and able to give her the perfect life. Now what does Islam say about the girl parents' decision? Can a girl reject her parents opinion, or should she just keep quiet? If she gets married and can't live happily with the parents selected guy, who is responsible for it?

I am trying to get married to someone I really like, and I have talked to her for 3 months now, not about anything bad but I know this is not the appropriate thing to do. I was not the best Muslim before I have made many major sins for two years which I do not wish to name. I met this girl in my third year and she helped me change my ways and showed me Islam through a different direction. She helped me get back to praying, and now alhamdulillah I try to pray 5-6 times a day. It has now been three months, and I am afraid to continue speaking with her because of fitnah and zina. I do not want to accumulate sins because of this relation. I told my parents about her, but they are not willing to get in contact with her and neither are they willing to see how the family is. Their answer is no because she as spoke to me before, and they think she is a bad person for speaking with me about marrying her. They say that it is their right to choose my spouse, and because I brought this topic up to them they are ashamed of me. They say their answer is no because she is Pashtun and we are Punjabi . I don't know how I can convince my parents to talk to her and let us get married. They are not happy with this relation because of the reasons I have listed. But I do not know what to do. I hope to be with this girl, and I have searched up that these reasons are not valid. Can you help me understand my situation and show me what is right to do in this situation?

Does Islam make/suggest any distinction/restriction by caste when it comes to making alliances (finding a partner for marriage)? Additionally, does it allow or even mention about caste?

Assalamu waalaikum, I would like to know if caste is portrayed in islam because I know it's forbidden in Islam but my parents say it isn't and we should follow our culture. Also could I please have some hadiths with it, to back up if they don't believe me. Jazakallah.

aoa. i am a practicing muslimah, and I want to marry a practicing muslim boy from a good religious family. i talked to family about him around 2 years ago and they refused to even meet them because they are not from our caste. we are syed and they are malik. he and his family respect us a lot and have tried to meet my parents but my parents refuse. i know i cannot marry him without the permission of my guardian, but when the case is like this that they are refusing on the basis of caste which has no importance in islam, what can I do? in this case can I get someone else to be my wali?

This question is motivated by a personal problem: I am in my late 20s wanting to get married to a good guy I know. We both are Bengali, Muslim; he has a good job, is on the deen, both educated to a high level. My parents first were okay with it as he was Bengali/Muslim, but once looked into it properly, they are refusing because he is apparently of a lower caste than me! (Something about fishmongers). I've tried to explain this is unislamic (more Hindu ways if anything), and I am trying to do the right thing and make my relationship Halal for us and in the eyes of Allah, but I am being told caste is Islamic? I am stuck and no longer know what to do. I am being told marrying into this caste is an unimaginable thing to do, almost degrading but I really don't see how. He and his family are good people so I'm confused about this caste issue. I would like to know: Does Islam mention a caste system within marriage and how best to approach this? Please don't judge about the relationship, rather assist me on this matter please.

I'm a Muslim girl and want to marry a Muslim boy who is following Islam properly. So I spoke with my guardian (الولي), that is my father, and he refused the proposal and does not want to meet his family because of difference in caste, as we are jatt and they are mirza. Is cast an important part in Nikkah?
