I have an overdemanding, selfish, abusive(physically and verbally), oppressive, bossy, fornicating and unreligious father. He is a Muslim but doesn't even know how to pray properly. He doesn't fully believe in Islam, infact he is advocating for the cancellation of Ramadan because of the ravaging pandemic (Covid-19). He has physically and emotionally abused my mother several times even during pregnancy. He only pays my school fees and feeds me, but doesn't even clothe me, my mother and my sisters( I have two elder sisters). He has physically abused me in such a way it almost cost me my left eye while I was observing my ishaa prayer and lied against me to cover his tracks. Luckily I am now in the university and away from this oppression. But during this period of the ravaging pandemic, Covid-19, it is unbearable. I have become my father's dry cleaner and servant. I iron about 2 pairs of well starched clothes every morning alongside other demanding chores, and while attending to those chores he keeps on calling me to do petty things for him like to pass him the remote that is lying on the same couch he sits on or to pick a pen he was using that fell off his hand, and he has no abnormalities and he is not too old but just lazy. On the average he sends me on errands twice every minute. If he stays at home for the whole day I wouldn't be able to do anything for myself. He has once discouraged me from reading the Quran as a young boy. He has brought a woman to sleep with in the absence of my mother and impregnated her before he married her. He embarrasses the family with his abnormal behavior. My major questions are;
1. Am I permitted to abandon my father once I finish my education as he is capable of causing me damage.
2. Should my mother divorce him.
3. Am I really supposed to answer to all his incessant and unnecessary calls. Also I'd be glad if the limits of obeying parents are well specified.

Why is "doing righteous deeds" not a pillar of Islam?
Doing righteous deeds is mentioned a zillion times in the Qur'an, e.g.: > And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. ... -- [Qur'an 2:25][1] > > ...those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day an...
Doing righteous deeds is mentioned a zillion times in the Qur'an, e.g.:
> And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. ... -- Qur'an 2:25
>
> ...those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. -- Qur'an 2:62
>
> But they who believe and do righteous deeds - those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally. -- Qur'an 2:82
Indeed, on reading the Qur'an, I considered it to among the most important take-home lessons. Instruction to do good deeds occurs with frequency comparable to that of instructions to pray (and they often come together). It seems strange to me that doing good deeds is not, as a result, listed as a pillar of Islam .
**Question**: Why is "doing righteous deeds" not a pillar of Islam?
I'm not sure how the pillars are determined, and there's a difference between Sunni and Shia pillars (according to Wikipedia). It could possibly be part of "enjoining what is right ", although I'm not clear on this.

I am 24 years old and once for a blood test I was wearing clothes which could not go all the way up till were we had to put the injection. So I took my arm out of the clothes I was wearing. But the problem was my arm was visible from my shoulders so basically all of the arm including my underarms and also my strap of the bra. So now I think of it I feel like I did something wrong showing my arm to a person who is a male and I don’t know him. So can you please tell me if it was wrong and will I be punished. Thanks.

Then if one insists on not looking at the teacher he will lag behind severely in education and it also might give rise to embarrassing and awkward situations.

Indeed, the very **first** [commandment he got in the cave](http://www.quranicstudies.com/quran/the-first-verse-of-the-quran/) was "**read!**", and he had *23 years* to obey that commandment (from the first revelation to his death).
Is anyone aware of any source or debate tackling this apparent incoherence?
Precision: This question is **not** about whether or not he was illiterate -- I am aware that this is not, in itself, a consensus, and that some people believe he actually was literate. This questions could be asked differently as : "How can those who **do** believe that he was illiterate until his death *justify* that he disobeyed the very first order he was given?".

The **timing of Faj'r here starts from 4:25.The Athan in my area for Faj'r is at 4:45** The **Jama'ah is currently at 5:10.**
I wake up at 4:00 and generally take about 15 minutes more or less (actually not less, always more ;_;) to get up, make wudu, clean up, brush my teeth and stuff.
**I pray Tahajjud right after that, I start around 4:15-4:20. Since 5 minutes is not enough to complete my Salat ul-Layl, I have to pray it within the Faj'r time.** And then go to the Masjid at 4:55 and pray my Sunnah and Fard prayer of Faj'r there. **Is it okay to do so, I mean can I pray Salat ul-Layl if the Faj'r time starts?**
I have read some hadiths and came to know that Salat ul-Layl can be prayed at any time of the night until dawn. It is best to pray in the last third of the night. The start of Faj'r time doesn't indicate the dawn though, right? I am a bit confused whether it is valid or not. Can anyone clarify me on this issue?

Some also say that a donation towards a good cause, such as a poor family is also ok.
So what is it? Is it mandatory, or are donations accepted as well?

Assalamulaikum,
I have been married to my husband for almost 7 years, we got married in Pakistan and live in the UK. Despite having a pretty normal and supportive relationship, with all its highs and lows, we still haven't been able to consummate our marriage. This is mainly due to psychosomatic condition that I have, and unfortunately my husband is suffering because of me as well.
I sometimes think that we haven't been able to consummate this marriage because I might not want to have children with him, when he desperately wants them. I have suggested that we adopt a child, but he doesn't want that either.
I have suggested several times to him that we part our ways in a friendly and civilised manner, so that he can get married to someone who wants the same as him and he can consummate his marriage, as I feel that he shouldn't be suffering because of me. I want him to be happy, and have children of his own, which I know , wouldn't be possible with me. I have tried medical/ psychological/ physical therapies for years, but nothings seems to work for me.
My husband has made it clear that he doesn't want to leave me or re-married, but I feel guilty for bad for him to be in a sex less marriage. I think it would be the best thing for him and me to leave me. I feel that if after all these years, I still haven't got better with him, maybe we just aren't meant to be.
Furthermore, as we are progressing in our marriage, he is getting me more involved in the family politics (we are also cousins) which is scaring me and having a bad effect on our relationship, as well as the relationship with my parents and siblings. Most arguments and conversations are now about this, rather than us a couple, which I am getting sick of.
I think it would be best if we part our ways but how do I go about this?
Jazakallah khair for reading.

But since I've heard from people who live here in USA that interest on mortgage is halal because you become owner after certain amount of time. if you were not to give mortgage you're going to give rent and consider mortgage as you're paying some money on top of rent to become owner of the house in 30 years. I'm asking two questions here.
1. Is job is halal?
2. what's the authentic stance on

I have been on another site looking at the major differences between Sunni Muslims and Shia followers. During the course of our discussions the subject of Infallibility came up. My question is this: Do we as Sunnis believe in the infallibility of Rasoolallah (PBUH)?
I know that the Shia hold certain leaders of their movement as infallible but for some reason this doesn't make sense since Muhammad (PBUH) was the seal of the prophets.
I hope someone can clear this up for me or rather reinforce what I believe about the Prophet (PBUH).
