Assalamu Alaikum. So I have a question regarding attraction in Islam. Is it haram, when you’re seeking and wishing to marry someone, to have sexual attraction as a criteria? Because, and this is just a guess, I think EVERYONE wishes to marry someone who they think are attractive. But I of course want to follow Islamic rules and not be haram, I just want to know, is it haram to wish to marry a woman who’s attractive (body and face)? It’s a bit of an awkward question to ask, pllz don’t judge me. I’m just curious. Because I don’t want to marry someone I can’t be intimate with if you know what I mean. Of course there are other criteria like personality, behavior and so on but no one can deny that attractiveness is important. I want to gain knowledge and be a better Muslim. If it’s haram, I ask you to let me know so I can have that in mind. Thank you.

Adam falling because Satan swore by the name of God

I've found one article on this subject on islamicity . This article states many things, that I could list one by one on here. However, it would be easier for all reading this in the future, if someone just gives us a description with islamic sources on who this man was in relation to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Note: I found no mention of this Jewish Rabbi at all on stack-exchange.

Is the belief of distortion of quran kufr? How scholars interpret narrations hinting about such? What should a common Muslim do questioning his faith?

This issue got my little attention when I first watched a video sent by my shia friend of a scholar named Hassan Allahyari who holds the view that the quran that we have in our hands is distorted and original quran will be brought by the hidden imam i.e. imam mahdi. I already knew that this subject is used as a weapon against each other by sunnis and shias. Sunnis start first by accusing them of belief of tahreef doing takiyya and shias in reply don't remain silent and bring narrations from the sunni books hinting as though it's a distortion. The web is full of this fighting stuff by both sunni shia sites discrediting each other. My question is now is there is no denying that these kind of narrations do exist, in both sunni and shias books even in bukhari and muslim and other sunan books as well. Here in Pakistan sunni scholars too admit this ,though some reject it completely despite of their authenticity and others make taaweel. Majority shias also disown this belief saying this is a propaganda and false allegation against shia as shias have always been a subject of hatred. Now here in subcontinent a scholar named Hassan Allahyari gained popularity and started disseminating this doctrine of distortion openly and people have started believing in it. My question is what should a common Muslim react towards these and view or doctrine it should hold especially when this era of chaos and secterianism where these kind of heated controversies makes him question his faith? And why are sunni so dishonest by maligning and falsely accusing the opposing party of tahreef when their own books are full of this stuff?

In my college classes, I am studying the Quran and I've noticed that the "We" pronoun used by Allah is typically seen as the "Royal We," but I cannot seem to find that sense of the word prior to the 11th century and further, I cannot find نحن (nahnu) to ever be used in the singular sense by contemporaries of Muhammed; especially in his cultural context. Even the Semitic relative Hebrew term נַחְנוּ (also pronounced nahnu), is always utilized in the plural. I was just hoping someone could help provide me with insight and resources in studying this (preferably works of antiquity written within a century of Muhammed.) With my utmost respect, I thank you all for your time.

When visiting a mosque, it matters if the imam is really a Muslim. Otherwise, why would one listen to his speeches? When celebrating an important islamic day, it matters if the people around you are Muslim. Otherwise, why would you celebrate with them? However, not being a Muslim has consequences. In some countries, such as Indonesia , it is mandatory for adults to choose some religion which makes islam an obvious choice but it does not necessarily make someone a Muslim. People in such countries who are actually atheist need to pretend being religious in order to prevent negative legal consequences. In addition, in countries with a higher level of religious freedom, there is a similar problem. An imam who stops believing in god, can loose his job when he admits that. In some families, admitting not being religious anymore can have negative consequences too. People who are relegious may be shocked or angry. As a consequence of this all, there are atheist who say that they are Muslim. So there is a problem. Like I explained, it is important to know who around you is Muslim. However, people who say that they are muslim may not be a truely believing Muslim. How should Muslims deal with this discrepancy to know who around them is Muslim or not?

And they say, "This is from Allah," but it is not > from Allah. And they speak untruth about Allah while they know. (Ali > 'Imran : 78) What does it mean to distort with "tongues"? You can only distort what is true. Does this verse mean that the Torah is true? And why does the distortion come only with tongues, and not with hands? What does it mean?

Has mu'tah been forbidden via the Quran? (Sunni view)
I understand that the Sunni view regarding mu'tah is that it is *no longer* permissible: > It was narrated from al-Rabee’ ibn Sabrah al-Juhani that his father > told him that he was with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings > of Allaah be upon him) who said, “O people, **I used to allow you...
I understand that the Sunni view regarding mu'tah is that it is *no longer* permissible: > It was narrated from al-Rabee’ ibn Sabrah al-Juhani that his father > told him that he was with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings > of Allaah be upon him) who said, “O people, **I used to allow you to > engage in mut'ah marriages, *but now Allaah has forbidden that until > the Day of Resurrection***, so whoever has any wives in a mut’ah > marriage, he should let her go and do not take anything of the (money) > you have given them.” > > Narrated by Muslim, 1406. What interests me about this hadith is the following part highlighted below: > ***but now Allaah has forbidden that until the Day of Resurrection*** This bit makes me think that this particular order: but now Allaah has forbidden that until the Day of Resurrection was received by the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) as a revelation from Allah. Doesn't the Quran contain all the revelations received by the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? So my question is, where in the Quran has mu'tah been forbidden? Sunni view please.

Around the time when is was between 14-15 years old I admired a anime character I liked his name was escanor a human who got powers of the sun and Had a god complex during the day and was anxious and depressed during the night. He was my favourite character I also played a role play game with my friends when playing I chose to be escanor and had to act like him so I said his lines like “praise the sun “. Or “I’m the pinnacle of al races” Now 2-3 years later I learned what shirk means and I’m terrified of the chance that I have committed this horrible sin At the time I did not know about shirk and also had clearly no intent of shirk or worship this character.now I’m 17 and terrified and anxious.

Alminbar.com lists the hadith: > Sahl bin S'ad As-Sa'di reported that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "This Community will experience the swallowing up of some people by the earth, the metamorphosis of some into animals, and being rained upon with stones.'' Someone asked, ''When will this be, O Messenger of Allah?''. He said, ''When female singers and musical instruments appear and wine is held to be lawful.'' (Ahmad & Tirmithi) This is also mentioned in *The Reliance of the Traveller* Section r40.1 (quoted at e.g. Muhammadanism.com ). [Side note: I asked about another hadith in this section (r40.1) here: ] I'm skeptical about this hadith by content alone: it would require an overt miracle of Allah, and while Allah has that power, miracles are not everyday occurrences. Moreover, in much of the world, these things are held lawful, and we're not observing people being swallowed up, metamorphosizing, nor rains of stones. It may be referring to one of these: 1. Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2210 , 2. Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2211 , 3. Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2212 , all listed as weak "Da'if (Darussalam)". I'm not sure if I've identified these correctly; they don't accurately match the quote. I also don't know who "Ahmad" refers to. **Question**: What is the source and reliability of this hadith?
