I recently started to draw a character that I saw as my desktop wallpaper. Suddenly, I realized that drawing living creatures is haram, and that Allah will ask us to put life into the pictures that we draw. I stopped drawing the character immediately, but I am still confused about whether or not it is haram to draw living creatures, especially fictional ones. Are these drawings really haram, even if we have no intention of giving them life or just drawing to do the timepass? I am especially wondering about fictional creatures like anime and other cartoon characters. Is it permissible to draw these?

I am wondering if drawing skeletons or skulls is prohibited in Islam? Since I've been told drawing things that contain human life, such as portraits, are prohibited. Although skulls don't have life and drawing skills are a necessity in my GCSE an A level's.

Recently I read on a islamqa website that watching a cartoon image is permissiible,see this; Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked: What is the ruling on cartoons that appear on TV? He replied: With regard to the cartoons which you say appear on TV, if they are in the form of humans, then the ruling on watching them depends on whether they come under the same ruling as realistic human images or not? It is most likely that they do not come under that ruling. If they are not in the form of humans, then there is nothing wrong with watching them, so long as they are not accompanied by anything haraam such as music and so on, and they do not distract from obligatory duties. End quote. Majmoo’ al-Fataawa 2/question no. 333 Also I have read that the rule of a awrah of a woman doesn't apply to cartoon since it is not real and hence we can watch them, see this; Some scholars favored the view that such images do not take the ruling of images of real persons, so they permitted looking at them. Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen said: “With regard to cartoon images that you mentioned are shown on television, if they are in the shape of a human, then the ruling of looking at them has to be looked at. Are they like a real image or not? The closest opinion to the truth is that they do not look like them (real images). And if they do not have a human shape, then there is nothing wrong with looking at them as long as they are not accompanied by an evil, such as music or the like, and provided that they do not distract one from performing an obligatory act of worship.” Now my question if it is allowed to watch a woman in a cartoon, does that mean we can also see a woman in a cartoon or a 2d image in inappropriate clothing(like Japanese school uniform or skirt long and small) of course provided that no private part are showing. So plz tell me how much awrah of a woman should be exposed and what can we see?

Hentai cartoons are not real that's why they are not mahram for anyone or they are not gonna marry anyone so they are not gonna someone else's wife. Allah say's:One Muslim's honor/respect is deposit(amanot)for other muslim. In this verse Allah means not to see others muslim's private parts or look at them with lust Rasul (SA) tell us to not see anyone thigh live or dead. Hentai are not alive creature and how can we say they are dead when they haven’t life anytime? Rasul (SA) also say that eyes zina is see/watch but zina can only be done with alive creature. I am a Graphics Designer. I want to design t-shirt and then upload it to some online marketplace, where I can sell it. So, the problem is, I want to use Anime (Japanese Animation based on manga/comics) related stuff like logo, magical-sign (indeed it's fake, just for fantasy), sign, quotes. I know, we can't use the picture, that's are prohibited. But, I am not using images tho. I want to use Anime kind of reference and sell it to those anime fans. Anime is haram some point. It depends on what type of anime you're watching. There is good anime and bad anime too. I am not gonna drag those stuff. I just want to use some particular things that fans would like to buy. Simply put: Its like I want to use the Marvel Avenger movie logo and quotes on t-shirts. And sell it to fans. So, would it be a promotion of anime/movies, if I use those mentionable things? it would be haram? Last thing I want to ask. Anime is non-living, non-existing characters. I heard that, if we create drawings of living creatures, then it would be haram. But anime is non-existing. So, it would be permissible to use them on T-shirts. Even it would be troublesome while praying with those shirts. By the way, these shirts are not for me, I just want to sell them to a particular country like the USA. Please, let me know the answer. This kind of thing bothers me too much. I am getting confused between haram and halal.

I watch Naruto, in that they use chakra as energy source or power, and they sometimes they commit act of shirk, whenever they do any kind of act of shirk, I start saying this all is fake and there is only one God and that is Allah, I do this because it's all fake first and second that this might lead me to commit shirk, but in the home we play like using techniques of the anime and chakra all that but we don't commit any act of shirk, we just play and we don't believe in it and one of my friends just thinks about a story like Naruto in which there is chakra but we all know it's fictional, are we committing shirk, and are we committing sin? We only watch these anime for entertainment.

Asalam o alaikum Recently, I came to know that art is prohibited in islam. I am confused is it art or is it drawing?. Both are very different things. For instance designing something requires art and every creative thing falls in the category of art. For instance making sight appealing brochures or any textbook for educational purposes needs the use of pictures and stuff. So my question is since art is such a huge subject and it involves so many different forms so is it all haram?

I know that it is not permitted to draw anything that depicts animate beings but I really need a bit of help about my situation as my income will going to be generate from this work.
