Is the hadith with the poem recited by Abbas after Tabuk authentic?
There is a hadith where it says after returning from the battle of Tabuk, Abbas Ibn Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, will you give me leave to praise you?’ The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, ‘Recite, may your mouth remain fresh’ Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)...
There is a hadith where it says after returning from the battle of Tabuk, Abbas Ibn Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, will you give me leave to praise you?’ The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, ‘Recite, may your mouth remain fresh’ Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) then recited: > 1. Some translated it as: > 1. Before it, you enjoyed the shade of Paradise, ... Within the glade where first the leaves were plucked, > > 2. And then to earth you fell, not yet in human form, ... Nor yet a piece of flesh within a mother’s womb; > > 3. A drop that sailed within the Ark whilst mighty floods, ... Washed Nasr away, and put pay to his worshippers, > > 4. From loin to womb you travelled through the ages, ... And all the while worlds passed on, each by each; > > 5. The fire beneath the Friend of Allah dimished: ... With you within his loins, how could he burn? > > 6. Until your line, preserved from any fault, arrived, ... To Khadaf, a plateau above a wide expanse; > > 7. Upon your birth, the earth was bathed in brightness, ... And by your light the far horizons shone, > > 8. And we, beneath this brightness and this radiance, ... Burn gladly in the glory of your guiding light. (I'm not sure about the accuracy of the translation) The references include: - Suyuti, Al-Khasa'is al-Kubra, 1/67 - Tabari, Al Mu'jam Al Kabir, 4/213, h. 4167 - Al-Hakim al-Nashapuri, Al-Mustadrak ala al-Sahihayn, 3/369, h. 5417 - Abu Nu'aym al-Isfahani, Ma`rifat al-Sahâba, 2/983 h. 2520 - Baihaqi, Dala'il al-Nubuwwah, 5/267-8 - Ibn Asakir, Tarikh Dimashq, 3/410 - Ibn Kathir, al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya, 3/369 , 371 ; 7/201 ; Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, 1/195 - Dhahabi, Siyar A`lam al-Nubala, 2/102-3 ; Tarikh al-Islam, 1/43 It can be also found in the book of Nur al-Din al-Haythami (Majma’ al-Zawa’id, 8/217-8, h. 13830 ), Ibn 'Abd al-Barr (Al-Isti'ab, 2/447, no. 664 ), Abu Bakr al-Shafi (Al-Fawaid, 1/282, h. 285 ), Qadi 'Iyad (Al-Shifa, 1/328 or 167 ), Mulla 'Ali al-Qari (Sharh al-Shifa, 1/370 ), Khatib al-Baghdadi (Al-Asma' al-Mubham, 6/449 ), Ibn al-Qayyim (Zaad al-Ma'ad, 3/482 ), Ibn Qutayba (Gharib Hadith, 1/359, h. 65 ) and other books by searching the Arabic text in Maktaba . It is noteworthy that I'm not sure if the 5th line can be found in any other book except the one of Suyuti. The tahqiq may be found in the any of the above books (especially Siyar of Dhahabi and Bidaya of Ibn Kathir), but the problem is (1) I don't know Arabic to understand and (also because of that) (2) I don't know, even if it's there, whether it's the tahqiq of that particular isnad or a general tahqiq of the ahadith with the matn. Therefore, it will be really helpful if the informations regarding the tahqiq are provided. Is the hadith authentic? What is the position of the Muhaddaitheen regarding the hadith? Jazzakum Allahu Khairan.

Some Christians (including an individual named Christian Prince) cite a verse which say : > The Jews say, "Ezra is the son of Allah "; and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah." That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. **May Allah destroy them**; how are they deluded? > > Surah Tawbah (9) : 30 They claim that Quran is man-made fabricated book. If it were from God, then why would God say, "May Allah destroy them"? Why didn't it say, "May Allah guide them"? And they also say : > If this is Allah speaking then it is saying, "May Allah destroy them" to who? > > If Allah is talking then he will not say, "May **Allah** destroy them" > > Here Allah praying to who? > > Why say, "May God curse you, May God.....whatever etc. That's mean I'm asking God. So obviously I'm not God. And this is exactly what's happening here. So this is how they claim that Quran is not from God. "If it were from God, God is praying to who?"- This is the main point of their argument.

Are all people of Scripture unjust for not believing in the Quran according to [29:46]
Sahih International translation of [29:46]: >And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, **except for those who commit injustice among them**, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. Sahih International translation of [29:46]: >And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, **except for those who commit injustice among them**, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him." Word used here is ظَلَمُوا۟. Another word with same root is used in another place in a way similar to *"those who sin have commited injustice to themselves"*. Therefore not believing in Qur'an is unjust meaning there can be no just person of book/scripture. **Is the injustice in 29:46 a specific form? is there any tafseer on this?** Remember that prefix "al-" is not used in 29:46. The prefix "al-" means "The" for example "al-Malik" means "The King" .

What does kafir mean in Surah Kafiroon? And does that contradict 29:46?
So this Surah says that Muslims should say: I will not worship what you worship and you will not worship what I worship: >Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O you **disbelievers**! 109:1. > >I do not **worship** what you **worship**,109:2 > >nor do you **worship** what I **worship**.109:3 > >I will never **worship...
So this Surah says that Muslims should say: I will not worship what you worship and you will not worship what I worship: >Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O you **disbelievers**! 109:1. > >I do not **worship** what you **worship**,109:2 > >nor do you **worship** what I **worship**.109:3 > >I will never **worship what you **worship**,109:4 > >nor will you ever **worship** what I **worship**.109:5 > > > [Quran 109](https://quran.com/109?translations=131) However 29:46 says: >And argue not with the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), unless it be in (a way) that is better (with good words and in good manner, inviting them to Islamic Monotheism with His Verses), except with such of them as do wrong, and say (to them): "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; **our Ilah (God) and your Ilah (God) is One (i.e. Allah), and to Him we have submitted (as Muslims)**." > > [Quran 29:46](https://quran.com/29/46?translations=203) So in chapter 109 (kafiroon) Allah said that disbelievers do not worship the same God whom Muslims (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) worship. While in 29:46 Allah tells us to say that our Ilah (God) and your Ilah (God) is One (i.e. Allah). How to resolve this apparent contradiction?

> And if only they had upheld [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and > what has been revealed to them from their Lord [i.e., the Quran], they > would have consumed [provision] from above them and from beneath their > feet. Among them are a moderate [i.e., acceptable] community, but many > of them – evil is that which they do. ([Al-Ma'idah \[5\] : 66][1] ) Does this verse mean that following the right faith gives a person the benefits of this world? But then why do disasters happen to Muslims, as well as to other people? And why are there rich Jews and Christians? For example, the wars in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. Maybe it's because of sins?

Check the following verses: - [Surah Al Maidah:51](https://quran.com/al-maidah/51) > O believers! Take neither Jews nor Christians as guardians—they are guardians of each other.1 Whoever does so will be counted as one of them. Surely Allah does not guide the wrongdoers. - [Surah Al Bakarah:120](https://quran.com/en/al-baqarah/120) > Never will the Jews or Christians be pleased with you until you follow their faith. Say, “Allah’s guidance is the only true guidance.” And if you were to follow their desires after all the knowledge that has come to you, there would be none to protect or help you against Allah. The current world is not dominated by Islam. It is dominated by the Western, so-called "Rules-based International Order," with the USA at its forefront. Back then, the world was not this connected and ruled by a single power like the USA through 800 military bases. There was no NATO, UNO, or EU. Apart from military factors, there are also economic factors. The Western alliance controls the world economy. The West has the largest economy, and they control the world economy through the USD or EURO. Science and technology are also controlled by them. As a result, life-saving drugs come from the West. They are also in control of food grains, as revealed by the ongoing Ukraine war. Muslim-majority countries are walking on a thin rope. If the Muslim-majority countries follow these verses exactly as they are, they will not survive. They will either be sanctioned, invaded, or die of hunger or disease. The Qur'an is supposed to be a universal message applicable to the world until it exists. So, how are these verses relevant according to today's reality? ____ What is wrong with this community? What kind of person would DV this well-structured and well-researched question?

Kufr is often defined as disbelief; to what extent does this simple definition cover the meaning of Kufr in Islam? **Motivation:** We have a load of questions (see the hopefully growing list at the end) on the site where someone is in doubt ofhaving committed an act which can be regarded as kufr and asks whether Allah will forgive him or her. I think that all of these questions essentially have the same answer and it is counterproductive to repeat it all the time. The act of kufr itself and the backstory of the one asking the question is largely irrelevant. I'd like to cover as many aspects of Kufr as possible starting with a useful definition. And to as completely as possible, cover the topic of Kufr, in order to use this as a reference question. So please address in your answer the following question parts: - What is the definition of the term Kufr? - What constitutes Kufr (which acts and preconditions are necessary)? - Can Kufr be forgiven and is the process of repentance different than that of repenting from a sin? - What are the conditions for it (possibly) being forgiven? - What if such an act was made unintentionally or without knowing it was kufr? As the question is intended as a reference question, the answer should include evidence and have at least canonical level. Some examples of former questions: - https://islam.stackexchange.com/questions/69730/did-i-commit-kufr - https://islam.stackexchange.com/questions/68299/doing-black-magic-but-you-did-not-know-shirk-was-a-sin (feel free to expand the list even with posts including answers)

I did not pray to the universe or say something like “ommm” like the Buddhists do. I tried to relax by shutting down some parts of my body (nervous system). Did I commit shirk? I already repented to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala and I'm frustrated that he won’t forgive me if it’s a sin.
