Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters,
Currently, I am a student and I would like to pay my Zakat. However, I realized my savings are below the usual Zakat nisab this year (I have only a few hundred in my savings and the nisab is $12,000). I am unable to get a job as I am studying in a college currently. So, how do I pay my Zakat?
Some additional context: my parents do pay their Zakat, and they have savings etc that are above the nisab.

In the book titled "Contemporary Zakat" by Mahmoud Abu-Saud, he quotes a Hadith which I'm rephrasing here: "The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) order a Zakat Collector by the name of Abu Hathama to take whatever is beyond the living cost."
From this Abu Saud validates the idea that the Nisab corresponds to the average family yearly living cost.
Where can I find this Hadith? I need the reference. If someone has access to his book, please verify if this Hadith is authentic.

I have read this question but it did not help me.
I have two bank accounts. One for savings (wherein I periodically pay off any interest incurred), and another for my current money. I have an **interest free** overdraft that I am in, and have been in since last ramadan. My savings have increased by £400 since last year.
In this situation, my savings are out weighed by the debt of my overdraft. But my overdraft is interest free so I am not paying money on it. Do I still need to consider it for Zakat calculation? Do have the nisab amount?

I have few doubts in mind regarding Zakat.
1) I have started earning Salary since February 2017 and it's Ramadan now, so I need to know when do I need to pay Zakat for the salary which is getting accumulated since February 2017?
2) Also I would like to know that Zakat is paid on wealth above nisab. So is the Zakat paid on the wealth which is only above nisab or the whole wealth including Nisab?

How exactly do you work out how much zakat you have to give on the gold you own?
I understand that you work out the nisab value, and if you have more gold than that, you give 2.5% of the value of the gold you have. I am assuming that is based on the nisab value of 24 carat gold.
However, most people have gold jewellery, and gold jewellery is normally 22 carat gold, as 24 carat gold is too soft to make into jewellery.
So how does it work?
Am I supposed to find the nisab of 22 carat gold, then give zakat based on how much 22 carat gold I have based on the current value of 22 carat gold on the open market?
Or, to make things even more complicated, is it based on the value of the jewellery? which normally costs a 3rd more than the value of the gold, when when it comes to selling your jewellery, I think the gold merchant is just interested in the value of the gold, so you normally get a 3rd to a half off the value you the jewellery... as I think they melt the jewellery to get pure gold out of it...
So I have no idea how this works when working out zakat.
As ramadhan is approaching, apparently a lot of people like to give their zakat in ramadhan.

I have a bank loan, a monthly salary, and no savings from my salary. Do I need to pay zakat?

I live and work out of my home country as an expat. I somehow **got a bank loan last year** which is equivalent of my country currency 3500000.
Every month, I'm **paying installment** as 90000 (equivalent of my country currency value) from my **monthly salary which is about 170000** (home country currency value).
I have **no saving from my salary** as for loan deduction & family expenses. **Out of 3500000 loan amount, I don't have any cash in my hand as I spent around 2300000 for family and home. I lent out 600000 (which will be returned to me) and invested 600000 for business (which will be refunded and getting some separate amount as monthly profit depending monthly gross profit of business).**
Now, **do I need to give zakat?** Last year, I gave zakat of the amount I had in my hand. This year, some of them asking to check with expert if my zakat is appropriate or not?
Even if I don't have to give zakat, even then I can give as Sadqah. Asking just for clarification.
