Getting a tattoo is very clearly condemned in the bible (Leviticus 19:28) but did the Early Church Fathers condemn getting tattoos?

I once heard a preacher stating that there are instructions in the Old Testament which prohibit the faithful from getting their body tattooed. I wish to know whether there are any teachings from the side of Catholic Church explicitly warning its members against tattooes .

Although I am bring up the case of the Medal of St. Benedict, any other image in use in this question could hold also. In the case of lack of official Catholic Church teachings on this subject could a priest simply bless such holy images? Is there any Church prohibitions against this?
