How do Muslims respond to C.S. Lewis's "Lord, Liar or Lunatic" argument?

Christian author and apologist [C.S. Lewis](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CS_Lewis) , is famous, among other things, for posing the [Lord, Liar, or Lunatic](http://www.existence-of-god.com/lord-liar-lunatic.html) argument, in favor of the divinity of Christ. The cliff-notes version is: Jesus said he was God ([see here for a summary of verses to this effect](http://www.godonthe.net/evidence/said_god.htm)) . This leaves three logical possibilities: 1. Jesus was a lunatic, on par with someone who believes they are a slice of cheddar cheese. 2. Jesus was a liar, knowing full well he was not God, but trying to convince people that he was. 3. Jesus really was who he said he was, and he was God. Given that Islam holds both Jewish and Christian religious texts in high esteem, and Islam believes Jesus was a prophet of Allah, how does Islam reconcile its concept of Jesus with these three possibilities? Would Allah send a prophet who was a pathological liar, or a lunatic? I see also a fourth logical possibility, and that is that the scripture record is wildly inaccurate, and Jesus never actually claimed to be God. This possibility, of course, raises other issues, beyond the scope of this particular question.

Assalamu'Alaikum, Before I was religious, I was friends with many people of the opposite gender (non-muslim). However I have become more religious (Alhumdullilah) and realise it is not permitted in Islam to be friends with opposite gender The friend group I am part of is full of non-muslims boys/girls and they regularly hangout. I usually make excuses (such as I am busy with other things) and in rare cases lying to avoid hanging out. Is this permisable? I have been friends with them for a very long time (5 - 8 years), I'm hoping that eventually they will stop inviting me Jazakallah Khayrun

Why didn't the Prophet Muhammad choose to stay alive longer?

I read that prophets/messengers can choose to live as long as they like with permission from God to spread the message, such as prophet Noah. Why didn't he stay alive for maybe another 300 years? This way every soul on earth would probably believe in him as being supported by God. This way the Hadith wouldn't be a clobbered mess like it is today. Why leave so early? If he was so worried about his Ummah why wouldn't he have stayed the next 5000 years to guide everyone? Why not be like prophet Noah who lived up to 950 years? Wouldn't that make Prophet Noah the greatest prophet of all time rather than Muhammad? Living so many life times of difficulty to spread his religion? What's the point in caring about the 'ummah' so much when you could've done a HELL of a lot more? Sahih Bukhari Chapter: 8, Prayers (Salat) Hadith No: 455 Narrated/Authority of Abu Said Al-Khudri The Prophet delivered a sermon and said, **"Allah gave a choice to one of (His) slaves either to choose this world or what is with Him in the Hereafter. He chose the latter." Abu Bakr wept. I said lo myself, "Why is this Sheikh weeping, if Allah gave choice to one (of His) slaves either to choose this world or what is with Him in the Here after and he chose the latter?" And that slave was Allah's Apostle himself.** Abu Bakr knew more than us. The Prophet said, "O Abu Bakr! Don't weep. The Prophet added: Abu- Bakr has favored me much with his property and company. If I were to take a Khalil from mankind I would certainly have taken Abu Bakr but the Islamic brotherhood and friendship is sufficient. Close all the gates in the mosque except that of Abu Bakr. https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=kHFvjpewe5AC&pg=PT89&lpg=PT89&dq=Allah+gave+a+choice+to+one+of+His+slaves+either+to+choose+this+world+or+what+is+with+Him.+That+slave+what+is+with+Allah&source=bl&ots=0NV0L3Ks5n&sig=ACfU3U3lPyiH-RRPJ3I7Z7rqX8JdNtTkeg&hl=en&sa=X&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=allah%20gave%20a%20choice&f=false

Do I have to maintain my hijab to my half-sisters?
I've two half-sisters, ie. same father different mother. Do I have to maintain the hijab, lower my gaze to them like they weren't from my family? I don't have any haram attraction towards them, I see them as real sisters.

What prophets does this passage refer to? Are there any specific prophets to which this relates passage relates? I have not yet read the Bible but the only named prophet I can think of that was killed by the People of the Book (in his case the Sanhedrin) was Yehoshua.

In the name of Allah, the most merciful and the most gracious. May I be forgiven if I commit a sin even asking this question. I read somewhere that there is a difference between Messengers (Rasuls) and Prophets (Nabis). A Messenger is apparently someone who receives new Sharia from Allah, and the Prophet is someone who can only guide his people to the ways of the previous Messenger. If so, can there be a new Prophet after Muhammad (PBUH)? Is there explicit mention of this issue in the Quran? Again, I could be completely wrong, so please forgive me if I am.

Allah the almighty says: > O you who have believed, **decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you** that you may become righteous - (2:183 ) This means that fasting or sawm was known and ordered to earlier nations. In the sunnah we are informed about the fast of the prophet Dawood () and I wonder if we have other references about other prophets () or maybe about what was the prescribed fast for the ahl al-Kitab. Are there any Muslim sources quoting the fast of ahl al-Kitab and/or earlier Prophets (except with Dawood)?

Which prophet is mentioned 25 times in the Quran?
I have heard that one of the prophets was mentioned 25 times in the Quran, but I can't find which one it is. I've heard this is a commonly taught Muslim tradition, and I think it is about Prophet Isa.

I would say I am about 60% sure that he is. Should I hold off on taking my shahada? I also don't know how strictly I would adhere to the rulings until I am completely convinced but I feel as if I will never know for certain, as I have a nature to doubt.

Were the prophets such as Christ infallible in Islam's point of view?
I want to know if Jesus of Nazareth (PBUH) was infallible form Islam's point of view? Do we consider him free of error and sin just as our own prophet Muhammad (S.A.) was. What about other Abrahamic prophets such as Moses?

Today I was in a discussion about previous prophets before Mohammed. Then we asked ourselves: Judaism and Christianity came before Islam so the prophets before Islam started were of a different religion unless the Jews and Christians used the prophets 'stories' to change them and make a religion. Someone also said that the previous prophets were muslims but the people changed the religion to suit their lifestyle. So my question are: Before islam started, Were the previous prophets originally muslims? if so then why did the people change them to christians and jews? Sorry if this all seems confusing. I am confused myself!
