Why someone trying to explain "The All" as being something else would fail? 3. What does "it lies beyond range" mean? From Sabba Sutta : > "Monks, I will teach you the All. Listen & pay close attention. I will > speak." > > "As you say, lord," the monks responded. > > The Blessed One said, "What is the All? Simply the eye & forms, ear & > sounds, nose & aromas, tongue & flavors, body & tactile sensations, > intellect & ideas. This, monks, is called the All. Because it lies beyond range."

Do all Buddhists say that nirvana exists?
Do all Buddhists say that nirvana exists? I can't believe I don't know the answer to that question, the amount I've read about Buddhism. Off the top of my head, some say it has svabhava, those that equate it with emptiness probably say it does not have svabhava, and some say it is the self.

Loving relationship here is meant specifically as a mutually intimate partnership like husband and wife and boyfriend and girlfriend. There would be the case where one would become fully awake and therefore abandons all teachings but whilst still in a relationship. Would this change the dynamics of that relationship in some major way? What do the Suttas say about this if anything?

What is the ultimate goal of Buddhism? Why should a person practice Buddhism, what will it provide to him? Various religions have various goals. For example, the ultimate goal in Christianity is everlasting life in Heaven through faith in Jesus Christ, while in Islam the ultimate goal is Jannah (Paradise). In Hinduism the ultimate goal is moksha, which means becoming one with the Brahma after death. But what is the ultimate goal of Buddhism? Is it nirvana? If it's nirvana then it doesn't seem to be a very great goal. The goal to achieve nirvana is basically dying and never coming back, because Buddhism believes in rebirth and the cycle of samsara, which it believes is filled with sorrow and suffering. Hence to put an end to this constant cycle of sorrow and suffering one should try to achieve nirvana. Am I correct??

Is peeking a "blind box" considered as stealing? Or breaking of any precepts?

Imagine this scenario, I want a Spiderman toy from a blind box set. There are 3 ways I can do. 1. Buy a few until I get "Spiderman" 2. Go ebay or some other website to buy from someone else whom had bought and open those blind boxes. It will cost more. And if "Spiderman" happens to be the "rare special designs", it will probably cost a few times more. 3. Secretly open those boxes carefully in toy-r-us or some other shop and take a peek. If it's "Spiderman", I'll buy it. Else, I'll repeat step 3 until I find "Spiderman". My question is whether method 3 is considered as stealing or breaking of any precepts? Let's make an assumption that peeking the box doesn't spoil the packaging, and therefore other consumers will still want to buy it if they want to.

Body energy and vibrations
I’ve recently started meditation after a very stressful time. I’m having strong vibrations and energy. It feels like I’m starting to learn to control it some. My mind is telling me it can be used used to heal others? I’m trying to figure this all out, but it’s very powerful.

I am examining ways of going further on my dharma road. At this point i am entirely self taught, for better and worse. I strongly believe that from here, some form of guidance from a more experienced teacher could help. Preferably face to face if possible. Does anyone know if there is someone committed to teaching in west sweden? Also, is there a sangha (anywhere in the world, really) that formalizes dharma teaching in some form of curriculum? I think a more structured approach could help my western mind learn dharma.

lady sayadev, saygi u ba khin goenka lineage vipassan
In the above-titled lineage of vipassana, it is said that as soon as there is contact through the sensory bases, sensations are produced on the body. Why and how does this happen? And, what are the type of sensations arising on physical body -- for example, tingling, etc., etc.?

Are the Jhanas related to some of the 31 realms of existence
When I say 'related' in this sense means more about the *hue* that accompanies a jhana, this might be a very pleasant feeling, mind state or perception. I don't know what school this question refers to. I'm just responding from some kind of intuition so any Buddhist sect is fine.

I'm trying to find a specific sutta I think
I remember there being a passage where a monk says to Buddha that he thinks the Sangha is at least 50 percent of the teaching and Buddha says something along the lines of 'it's all of it'. Can anyone help me find this or is my memory faulty and that's not what was actually said?
