Is Lord Buddha's way applicable to escape from the 'Plato's cave'?

He shows two analogy. 1). Analogy of the sun. 2). Analogy of the divided line. Is this two has any relationship with Buddhist two truths(Conventional and Ultimate)? conventional truths is believing worldly things.(eg. the car Is). If so what is the " Divided line"? Or else, What is then 'Majjima Patipada '(Middle path)? Why Middle?
