Regarding the Revert to Islam

I'm in a situation could you help me out. I'm an Hindu and I planned to convert to Islam. I contacted a Islamic trust for conversion to Islam. I planned to convert on 21st October next month on my birthday. One person from the trust and myself we both were in a call i was about to ask the procedure and the documents required for the conversion but suddenly he told me to repeat the Shadda, I thought it's a practicing and in the end he told me that I have converted to Islam. I didn't tell the Shadda whole heartedly and in didnt have any intention while saying the shadda. I need to know Am I converted to Islam or not. Right now im not ready.
