Does verse 48:9 tell us to glorify Muhammad ﷺ?

Somebody said something like >"Verse 48:9 told Moslems to glorify Mohammed (PBUH) because according to the rules of arabic grammar it dictate that what follows after a name will refer to the last person mentioned. That person is Mohammed (PBUH). This is agreed by Ibn Abbas - islams finest scholar" So is the sentence above correct?
