Are there instances of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forcing polytheists to Islam?

Relevant hadith: Prophet after a expedition hung his sword on tree, a polytheist took this sword and put it to neck of prophet and asked who will save you from me. Prophet said Allah. Polytheist loses grip of sword. Prophet picks it up and situation is reversed. Prophet asks him do you accept Islam? Polytheist said he will not but he will stay neutral towards muslims.
