Are these to facts in direct conflict with each other?   #1. Jesus said it is our responsibility to care for the weakest. Feed, clothe, heal, comfort the needy. No exceptions. This is our highest calling. FTo help and serve our neighbor... and everyone is our neighbor. #2. God created a world built on a system of survival of the fittest, the suffering and death of the weakest. A world whose laws are often in direct conflict with the message of Jesus. And God saw this and said, “This is very good.”   I realize there are those who deny any conflict. Some by claiming with that there is no God. Others by claiming God created earth as a perfect utopia, but it got derailed by a talking snake.   But for us who avoid those extremes. For those of us who accept the evidence before us. What did God see as "very good"? Yes, this world has wonderful beauty. But it is also brutal. Half the life forms only survive by tearing apart and eating the other half. The weakest and poorest suffer the most. Where the strongest most often dominate and subject the weakest. This is the world God created. In direct opposition to the world Jesus said we should have. And the first chapter of the Bible had God repeatedly saying, "This is "very good". What is very good?
