Alternatives to sitting meditation?

I'm not exactly a Buddhist, just a meditator. However, I was wondering if there are alternatives to just sitting and watching the breath? Especially, are there things I can practice throughout the day to accomplish the same effect? The fact is I, and many other people, will not have time to meditate consistently and see its benefits. I appreciate your responses.
